Competition Economics Course

I have had the pleasure of presenting a course in competition economics at the University of Pretoria from 2023. This course is presented to students doing their honours degrees in Economics or Econometrics. Students at that level would have had exposure to microeconomic topics of firm behaviour but none would have been introduced to competition law. This law presents limits on firm conduct in the interests of maintaining competition.

I have extensive practical experience from economic consulting and I leverage that experience to provide students with a greater appreciation of the kinds of issues practioners and competition authorities often grapple with. I've been fortunate enough to discuss cases that I have worked on myself or may be working on at the time!
